Community Garden

The rest of this site focuses on Internet related litigation, but that's only one patch in a large garden of law that affects Internet companies and commerce. Lawyers who handle other Internet related work - licensing and other contracts, patents, business formation (incorporation, joint venture, partnership agreements), taxation, for example, are welcome to stake out their own ground here in the community garden. Are you involved in or aware of a case with interesting elements to our community? Feel free to submit case summaries or other materials to the above email address. Our first submission is the "speaking" outline from Ken Carson's presentation at a recent Continuing Legal Education Conference. The written materials from that conference, analyzing the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, the MP3 controversy, and the Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998, authored by Judy Polacheck and William Boesch, respectively, are available as well.

Control and tight management of internet and IT resources and activities is of course one route to reduce the risk embroilment in many of the issues discussed on this site. These, though, are beyond the scope of this portal. However, we can direct you to selected external websites which may provide useful information. We will be adding to this area in due course.
